WHY ALBERDI

Juan Bautista Alberdi (1810-1884) was the father of Argentina’s 1853 Constitution, and an accomplished thinker and diplomat. Alberdi lived in Uruguay, Chile and Europe. He stood out as one of the most influential intellectuals of his time not only in Argentina but also in the whole Latin America.
His vision inspires us at Alberdi Partners. Alberdi realized that a country as deserted and backwards as Argentina needed to attract European immigration and capital, for what the protection of property rights, free trade and religious freedom were required.
More generally, Alberdi’s view that the interaction between the institutional framework and the economic policies of a nation is of utmost importance for wellbeing also inspires the inter-disciplinary approach that we aim to provide to our clients at Alberdi Partners. We believe that the understanding of the political incentives and restrictions as well as the economic policies implemented are key to forecast the main macro variables in all countries.

Our intention is to work with realism and pragmatism when preparing our macro forecasts of any country, and not to be carried by our endorsement, or not, of the ideology of the administration in power.
